Stainless Steel is hygienic, easy to clean, durable
and the first choice of the professionals’. Whether traditional
or contemporary, Stainless Steel will feel at home. And is without
doubt the best all-round material for kitchens and bathrooms.
Beware of imitations! Not everything shiny is Stainless Steel. Technically
Stainless Steel is the name given to steel containing a minimum of
11% chromium. Most Stainless Steel also contains nickel to further
increase corrosion resistance. The Stainless Steel used by Metal Tiles
Ltd contains 18% chromium and 8% Nickel, giving a far better corrosion
resistance that won’t rust, tarnish or discolour.
To tell the difference between Real Stainless Steel and imitation is
not always strait forward. Look out for obverse wording, like metallic
often not even metal. Stainless Steel Effect and Stainless Steel Finish,
both inferring they are merely a finish applied to the surface and
are Not Real Stainless Steel. A good tip when shopping for Stainless
Steel is to carry a small magnet. Stainless Steel is less magnetic
than ordinary steels. Higher grades of Stainless Steel have very little
or no magnetism. Do remember! Not all metals are magnetic and aluminium
is often confused with Stainless Steel but is not as hard wearing or
as corrosion resistance.
